PHP Forbiden Error

i uploaded a laravel 10 project to a shared hosting and i got Forbidine Error 
to fix that i created .htaccess file on the public folder and added this block of code to if "
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ public/$1 [L]
</IfModule>"

then i got this error "Server error 500" to solev it i added this line of code to the index.php file within the public folder. this code showed what the major couse of the problem

the error that poped up was "PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=' in /vendor/symfony/string/Resources/functions.php on line 34"
the one mejor curse of this error is php version so i had to update the php version on my cpanel through "multiphp Maneger"
